AUGUST 30 – SEPT 2, 2019

Young Bucks is specifically dedicated to trans men that are early in their transition.

All programming will be focused on addressing the needs of someone early in their male identity. Navigating the world as a new man can be challenging and there are not a lot of resources to help guide you along the way. This camp will have all the traditional summer camp activities, as well as focused chats and group activities that will aid you in your desire to learn more about the man you want to be and how to become that man.

Many of us trans guys never had the opportunity to experience a boyhood summer camp. It’s our aim that you find that missing piece at Camp Lost Boys. We provide a retreat away from the stress and the struggles of your day-to-day life. We aim to focus on self-empowerment and self-esteem building through the physical and mental activities of a traditional summer camp experience. Come climb ropes, zip line, try archery, hike mountains, go mountain biking, make tie dye, hang out with horses, enjoy facilitated fireside chats, music, friendship and so much more! We hope you let down your guard, and get in touch with yourself, nature and your community.

Lodging for 3 nights and 4 days.

Three fresh and organic meals a day plus snacks and beverages – we work with the camp to design vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus and options catered specifically for our group and to accommodate food allergies.

Access to all activities offered.

Our camp is for any guy who self-identifies as a man of trans experience and is over the age of 18. This camp is largely focused on physical activities and is a dedicated place where we can celebrate our male identities in a safe, fun, and rugged outdoor setting. If this appeals to you, please join us! Though this edition of camp is focused on younger guys, all are welcome. Keep in mind if you are older or have been on T for a long time, you may serve as more of a mentor in this setting.

Camp is located on 400 acres in the Black Forest of Colorado covered with rolling hills, miles of trails and pristine forest. It is about a 1.5 hour drive from DEN airport. Since Denver International is a hub airport, it is affordable to fly in from most parts of the country. This camp ground is home to a dozen horses and other wild life, as well as boasting miles of hiking trails easily accessible to campers.

We will be offering a message board for ride-sharing.

Slumber party vibes all around! You’ll be sharing your cabin with somewhere between 10 and 20 others. Cabin groups are assigned with your comfort and happiness in mind. If you are in need of an accessible bathroom in your quarters, there is a cabin that is more dorm-style than the traditional rustic ones. Please be sure to indicate that need/preference in registration.

If you’re looking for less roommates and more room, we also have an option for a private studio cabin for an additional cost. The private cabin option holds 1-2 people per room with bathroom/kitchen and some living room space. Please be sure to select this option in check out.

If you are looking for something more rustic, we offer platform tents that can accommodate 3 campers. It is a cheaper more camp-like experience.

The camp does not provide linens, so we suggest you bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. However if you need linens the camp will be able to supply, bedding, towels and pillow for an additional cost, be sure to indicate that need at checkout and you can purchase when you arrive for an additional $30.

All inclusive full tuition for camp is $525 (plus registration fee $3.95) through April, after that the cost of camp will go up to $555.

If you require more private accommodations, you can rent a small single cabin with a bathroom for $780 (space is very limited, so act fast). There are also a limited number of platform tents that accommodate up to 3 campers, available for $425.

It is important to us as organizers of a community event that we keep cost as low as possible. If cost is prohibitive, we encourage you to apply for our scholarship fund when it opens, but keep in mind space is limited. Please also keep in mind that scholarship does not include transportation to and from the camp, you will need to get there on your own
